How to clone a product?
In My products, open the product ⋮ menu and choose Clone Product. The copy is created in the project you pick, with its offers, checkout, coupons, deliverables, pixels and pages. The original product doesn't change.
Role: anyone who can create products. Details in Roles and permissions.
Clone
- In the side menu, open Products & Deliverables > My products.
- On the product card, click ⋮ and then Clone Product.
- In New product name, adjust the name. It comes filled with the current name followed by (copy).
- In Destination project, choose the project. The product's current project comes selected; you can also create a new project by typing its name in the field.
- Check the What goes into the copy block: how many offers, order bumps, coupons, deliverables, pixels and pages will be copied, plus warnings about what is left out.
- Click Clone product.
When it finishes, Product cloned shows up. Click Open product in the notice to go straight to the new product. It also shows up in My products.
What goes into the copy
- Offers — every offer that wasn't deleted, with a new checkout link. The copy starts with no sales.
- Order bumps — only the ones linking offers of the same product.
- Coupons — with the same code. The coupon isn't duplicated: it also starts applying to the new product's offers. So the coupon rules (Allowed emails, Required offers and Lists and segments) still apply, the usage limit is shared between both products and any change to the coupon applies to both.
- Deliverables and pixels.
- Affiliate program settings — the program configuration, without the affiliates.
- Pages linked to the offers, such as the checkout. If the page address is already taken in the destination project, the copy gets a new address. Copied pages use the project's default domain.
- Images and files used by the product, offers, deliverables and pages. The copy keeps its own files, so deleting something in the original product doesn't affect the copy.
What is not copied
- Affiliates — the new product starts with no affiliates. Invite them again if you want.
- Co-productions — invite the co-producers again if needed.
- Sales and subscriptions — they stay on the original product.
- Members area access granted by deliverables — set it up again on the new product's deliverables.
- Order bumps linking to offers of other products.
- Max Design pages.
If something wasn't copied
If a page or file fails during the copy, the product is still cloned and the The copy is incomplete notice shows up:
- Some pages weren't copied — open the page in the original product and duplicate it in the editor.
- Some files weren't copied — those files still point to the original product. Replace them in the copy before deleting the original.
