How do I create and schedule a social media post?
In Marketing → Social media, click New post. Pick the accounts, write the caption, add media, check the Date and time and click Schedule. The post shows on the calendar at the chosen time.
Before you start
- At least one connected account — see How do I connect Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube to Clickmax?.
- The Create permission of Redes sociais to save and Edit to schedule, add to the queue or publish — see Roles and permissions. Without Edit, only the Save draft button is on, and only until the first save: saving a post that already exists again needs Edit.
Steps
- On the calendar, click New post.
- In Accounts, pick where to post. You can pick up to 20 accounts per post. Accounts that need to reconnect show as disabled.
- Write the Caption. The counter shows the limit of the shortest network among the chosen ones, so the same text fits all of them.
- Click Add media to upload images (JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF) or videos (MP4, MOV or WEBM), up to 1 GB each. Wait for each file to finish uploading.
- Check the Date and time. The time follows the time zone shown right under the field and must be in the future.
- In Settings per network, open the tab of each network and check the Post type.
- Click Schedule.
If something blocks the upload, the Before you continue list says what and on which account — for example, "Add an image or a video." on Instagram. Fix it and click again. The limits Clickmax checks are in Which limits of each network does Clickmax check?.
Settings per network
Each tab applies to every account of that network chosen in the post.
- Post type: Instagram has Feed post, Carousel, Reels and Stories; Facebook has Feed post, Reels and Stories; TikTok has Video and Carousel; YouTube has Video and Short.
- Caption for this network only: turn it on to write a different text for that network.
- Another time for this network: turn it on so that network goes out at a different time from the main one.
- Instagram: on Reels, Also show the Reels in the feed.
- TikTok: check the authorization to send to drafts — see Why did my TikTok post go to drafts?.
- YouTube: a required Title (up to 100 characters), Visibility and the answer to Is this video made for kids?.
Write with AI
Pick at least one account and click Write with AI, next to Caption:
- Create caption — write an idea in the field and the AI writes the text from it.
- Rewrite — the AI rewrites the text in the field.
- Shorten — the AI makes the text shorter.
The AI writes in the screen language and keeps to the smallest character limit among the chosen networks, so the text fits all of them. If you change the text, the networks or the post type while the AI writes, Clickmax does not replace the text on its own: it warns you and offers Replace. On the YouTube tab, the same button next to Title writes or adjusts the title. Always review the text before you schedule.
Links in the caption
https://links to your workspace's Clickmax pages and checkouts get UTM tags and become a short link when the post is published. This way you see which network and which post the visit came from. The caption you see in Clickmax stays as you wrote it.- Clickmax links that already have a
utm_parameter keep their parameters and only become a short link. Links to other sites go out as they are. - On Instagram and TikTok, links in the caption are not clickable — use the bio link.
Other ways to save
- Publish now — sends to every chosen account at this moment.
- Add to queue — uses the next free time of each account's queue — see How do I use the social media time-slot queue?. If the composer stays open after that (for example, because of a warning), the tab of each network shows Queue times with the time of each account. These times stay until you change the time of that network.
- Save draft — keeps the post without sending it. The draft shows on the calendar at the chosen time; open it and click Schedule draft when you want.
After the post is saved and the composer closes, its caption and media do not change. To change the content, open the post, click Delete or Cancel scheduling and create a new post.
Change the time later
- On the calendar, drag the card to another day (Month) or another hour (Week).
- On the post, use New time and Save time on the network you want to change.
Only draft, scheduled and failed uploads can change their time. The new time must be in the future.
